Goals and advantages
The objective of the “Smart Building – Building the Future” program is to establish the European Wood Technology Center, which will geographically encompass all European countries.
The program partners focus on exchanging experiences in the field of wood technologies, researching modern wood material technologies, and promoting the sustainable development of the wood industry in Poland and abroad. Their goal is to implement best practices in constructing innovative, energy-efficient, and ecological buildings that positively impact the natural environment.
The program aligns with the main activities undertaken by the Ministry of Environment Protection and the State Forests. It also complements the Government Program “Mieszkanie Plus” (Housing Plus) and the Strategy for Responsible Development 2020.
Why prefabricated construction?
Composite-wood construction has many advantages. It allows for computer-controlled production, which translates into an unlimited ability to create ready-made elements for building projects tailored to individual ideas and design expectations. The main advantage of buildings based on composite-wood technology is the fast construction pace.
A benefit of the composite is that visually it effectively imitates wood but does not require impregnation. Additionally, it is characterized by very low moisture absorption, which enhances resistance to pests and low susceptibility to biological corrosion, as well as high resistance to mechanical damage.
